The Discussion on the Princess
Dec. 24th, 2013 01:40 pm"This was certainly unexpected but not unwelcome," Prince Siegfried tells Lohengrin as they walk through the halls of the castle.
"Unexpected is right," his Knight confirms. "I had offered to escort Princess Tutu to her castle instead but she wanted to stop here."
The Prince waves his hand. "I think it's better this way. It's far less dangerous and I don't mind her company."
Exactly what Lohengrin didn't want.
"She is courageous," the Prince continues. "Giving of herself to others in need."
"It's foolish."
"Others live in that same danger every day, Lohengrin."
"But she can't defend herself the way you or I can."
Siegfried smiles slightly, the gesture not reaching his eyes. "Many others can't, either. She should be more careful but I think we should consider her mission. It will be those acts of kindness that will prevent the spread of the Raven, a crucial thing to bear in mind when both of you confirm seeing the same woman in Heinrich's kingdom."
Lohengrin halts, Siegfried gaining a few steps in the process. "What?"
The Prince turns his head back to him. "Tutu told me of a woman she met that matched your description of the woman with red eyes."
The Knight's brain floats up the awful notion that the witch has put the restriction on Tutu that Autor told him about.
That foolish- She didn't- She couldn't- That princess is going to be the end of us!
"My liege, I think I need to speak to Princess Tutu about that very matter."
