Lohengrin hears his father but doesn't make any move to stop or even slow down.
"Lohengrin, I think we just passed Princess Tutu's carriage," his father adds.
"And?" his son replies.
The Knight can feel Parsifal's glare behind him.
"Son," he says firmly. "Prince Siegfried will be expecting us."
"He knows we're hunting."
Parsifal catches up to his son and levels a heavy look at him. "Lohengrin, we can't avoid our duty like this."
The Knight frowns, staying silent. Eventually his father sighs.
"You can't avoid her forever."
"Is it so bad to miss the initial swell of joy at her arrival?" his son finally asks. "Besides, they wouldn't want me there, anyway."
Parsifal lets Lohengrin ride a little ahead, the father looking back at the carriage they passed on the way.
